Lawyer in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group

Melody is passionate about litigating civil and administrative files. Her openness and creativity have allowed her to be a talented litigator. The new call has articled at the SAAQ and has handled multiple compensation following bodily harm files in front of the administrative instances. Her expertise in administrative law goes beyond car accident compensation as she is familiar with labour grievances due to her placement as a registry officer at the FPSLREB.

These litigation skills have been refined throughout her studies and career paths. She participated in two moot courts representing the University of Ottawa and clerked for a judge at the Court of Quebec. She has also participated in informing self-represented litigants, as part of a pilot project by the Ministry of Justice, about the applicable law and jurisprudence relevant to their small claims cases. Her analytical skills proved efficient as an analyst participating and advising on the reform of the Nunavut Mining Regulations to transition the acquisition of mineral claims to an online system.

Melody has a very entrepreneurial mind, this allowed her to participate in starting a business in 2020 and act as a volunteer facility manager that oversees budget to a religious retreat center.
