Kevin Chen is an articling student at the Ottawa-Gatineau office.
He obtained his Licentiate of Civil Law and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Ottawa. During his academic career, Kevin was heavily involved in the student community. In particular, he was president of the Asian Civil Law Students Club and acted as a mentor for first-year students during his years of study. He also contributed to the University of Ottawa's Pro-Bono Legal Clinic for 2 years as a student-researcher.
During his years at the university, Kevin held the position of research assistant for Professor Marel katsivela's Maritime Law course, as well as the position of student ambassador for Lexis Nexis. Kevin also had the opportunity to develop his advocacy skills by participating in the 2024 edition of the Adam F. Fanaki Competition Law Moot. During this competition, he had the chance to plead before retired Supreme Court justices and active Federal Court justices.
Beyond his professional activities, Kevin is also implicated in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he holds the position of Master-Corporal in reservist infantry regiment since 2022. Prior to his legal studies, Kevin completed a DEC in Administration with distinction at Marianopolis College. In his spare time, Kevin is an avid martial arts enthusiast notably in the disciplines of boxing and Muay Thai.
